Trek 15 (Wheeny Creek & Mountain Lagoon)
Continues from Trek 2
Sunday we started Trek 15 (Wheeny Creek & Mountain Lagoon). We did this in reverse starting at Bilpin. The drive from Bilpin to Upper Colo Reserve was a pleasant easy drive with some nice scenery on the way. Upper Colo Reserve looks like a nice place to camp. We again stopped and had a coffee.
On the way back to Kurrajong Heights we took a side trek that looked a little more challenging. Half way along this side trek I was having doubt as we hit the sidestep support brackets several time but the X-Trail seemed to handle it all easily.
There were several great lookouts along the way.
We did not make it all the way to the end of this side trek. We came across a section that I thought would be a little too hard on the car. I think we will go back and try this trek again as Judy and I did enjoy the drive.
Back on the normal trek we continued to Wheeny Creek camp ground. Again this looked like a good camp site and then back to Bells Line of Road.
This Trek was not hard and could be done in a car (except the side trek).
